Guilin lies in the northern portion of Guangxi, and has a total area of 27,809 square kilometres (10,737 sq mi). The topography of the area is marked by karst formations. The Li River flows through the city.
Guilin has some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. Unfortunately the weather was not so great during my stay, so decent landscape photos were hard to get.
Yangzhuo Light Show. When I read that the choreographer of the show was the same person responsible for designing the Beijing Olympics 2008 opening ceremony. I thought I was in for something spectacular. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
The Light Show tells the story of the Yangzhuo culture and how Yangzhuo people make their living on land or water.
The entire show is performed on the Li River and makes use of the surrounding mountains and floating props. With flood lights lighting up the mountains surrounding the river, this really is a beautiful setting. Its a shame it wasn’t used to its full potential.
